PCIe 6.0 Preliminary FYI Workshop

Important Logistics:

  • The primary goal of this event is to assist in the development of the PCIe 6.0 Compliance Program. Testing will focus primarily on the electrical tests at (Tx, Rx and LEQ) 64 GT/s only. Link Transaction, Configuration Space and interop tests are available but these will be limited in test coverage.
    • To participate, your Device must:
      • Support 64GT/s
      • Implement full link and transaction layer support at 64 GT/s
      • Be capable of PCIe 6.0 protocol
      • Be able to generate all presets Q0-Q10 and other auxiliary compliance test signals ( such as the 52 UI compliance jitter and toggle pattern)
        • Preference to accepting the Tx Compliance signal from the CBB and CLB​
      • Support Loopback
    • There is a preference that your device:
      • Implement a fully functional LTSSM
      • Be able to enter loopback via recovery
    • Additional requirements may be announced 
    • Any DUT that isn’t able to meet the above requirements will be a lower priority device for correlation tests and undergo reduced testing
  • Your product must support PCIe 6.0 (64GT/s ) in order to attend this event. Please note that products tested during this event will not be eligible for the Integrators List. 
  • Each registration may have an additional two attendees accompany the product, up to a maximum of three onsite personnel. NO onsite registrations will be allowed during the event. 

The PCI-SIG is conducting correlation measurements during this workshop. To facilitate this correlation work we ask that you present the same physical copy for all electrical test and please refrain from making updates during your devices between electrical tests. Since this correlation work will take a major amount of time during this workshop we ask that if possible you bring multiple copies of the same DUT. Your help in providing multiple copies to complete this correlation effort is appreciated.

Please be advised that for this workshop we will try and honor your admittance to this workshop on the usual first come first served basis. With the correlation efforts going on at this workshop, we may change this policy based on the distribution of Add-In Cards and Systems being registered.

REGISTER EARLY: In case registration exceeds our testing capacities, we have established a reasonable cap for each product type and revision. If these caps are reached during online registration, we will put any additional products on a waiting list. Products will be moved from the waiting list to full registration if possible, based on the order of their attempted pre-registration and will be notified the week after the registration deadline of Thursday, May 9, 2024.

COST: Participation in this Members Only event is free. A no-show fee of $250 will be required if your product does not attend the event or your product registration is not canceled by 5:00 pm PT on Thursday, May 9, 2024.

These Terms of Participation will govern Your activities during the Test Event, including Your obligations to keep certain information confidential. We are doing our best to accommodate as many registrations as possible and hope to accommodate all members. Registrations will be removed from the waitlist in the order that they are received and we encourage you to register as soon as possible to secure an early spot on the waitlist.

The PCI-SIG Compliance Workshop #129 will be held April 22 - April 26, 2024 at the Embassy Suites San Francisco in South San Francisco, California. Please note this event will be held at a new location. This event will include Integrators List product testing for PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0 products. As of the July 2022 Compliance Workshop, product registration options will include PCIe 4.0 Official Testing at 2.5, 5, 8 or 16 GT/s maximum link speed and PCIe 5.0 Official Testing at 2.5, 5, 8, 16 or 32 GT/s.

Participants pay for their own travel, food, and hotel expenses. Lunch is provided for attendees Monday through Friday. 

REGISTRATION DEADLINE & TESTING SCHEDULES: We do not accept onsite product registrations so you MUST register your product prior to the registration cut-off date of 5pm (PT) on Thursday, March 28, 2024. Your testing schedule will be created based off of the information you provide for your registered product, so please be sure that any changes to your product’s information are completed prior to 5pm (PT) on Thursday, March 28, 2024. No product detail changes are allowed after registration has closed as we will be distributing anonymized testing schedules in advance of the event.

Advantages Offered to Members:
Bring your PCI Express based system and/or card to participate in the compliance and interoperability testing to ensure compatibility with other systems and components. With testing you will be able to analyze and fix problems before your components enter the field, thus saving your company valuable time and resources. This compliance workshop will also offer valuable networking opportunities with your fellow PCI Express engineers. This is a free event for members, and does require membership in the PCI-SIG to attend.

Starting with Compliance Workshop #125 (July 31 – Aug 4, 2023) the PCI-SIG has added the CV for system test for PCIe 4.0 systems as an FYI test. This test is already FYI for PCIe 5.0 system in preparation for this test to become mandatory with the PCIe 6.0 Compliance Program. To aid in preparation for this test the FYI CV for system test for PCIe 4.0 system has been added to the program to also allow PCIe 4.0 system vendors to prepare for this mandatory test when the PCIe 6.0 Compliance Program is activated. Vendors with a PCIe 4.0 system at a Compliance Workshop must attend this test to the best of their ability. Since this is an FYI test, the result of the test does not affect qualification for IL listing.
